Privacy Policy
This policy explains what PizzaCup collects, why we collect it, and how you can control your information when you use the PizzaCup rally service at pizza-cup.ch.
1. Who we are
PizzaCup (“we”, “us”) provides a web-based checkpoint race platform for organizers and participants. Contact: RaceControl@pizza-cup.ch.
2. Information we collect
- Account details — email address, and for organizers a password or Google/Apple sign-in identity.
- Profile details — display name, race number, optional avatar, and other details you enter for a race.
- Race activity — event membership, checkpoint progress, finish times, rankings, and related race status.
- Location data — approximate GPS coordinates while you use the participant map or validate checkpoints, only after your device grants permission.
- Device and usage data — basic technical logs needed to run and secure the service (for example browser type, timestamps, and error events).
- Content you upload — such as event branding images or route files provided by organizers.
3. How we use information
- Create and authenticate organizer and participant accounts.
- Run races: registration, live tracking, checkpoint validation, rankings, and results.
- Operate the service, administer plans and pilot offers, understand aggregate product usage, and provide support.
- Send passwordless sign-in or recovery links you request.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- Improve PizzaCup based on how the product is used.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Google and Apple sign-in
If you choose “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple”, that provider shares basic profile information with us (typically your email address and, when available, your name) so we can create or sign in to your PizzaCup account. Their use of data is governed by their own policies. You can revoke access in your Google or Apple account settings.
5. Location
Location access is optional at the browser/device level and is used to show your position on the race map and to validate nearby checkpoints. You can deny or later revoke location permission in your browser or device settings. Without location, some race features may not work as intended.
6. Sharing
We share information only as needed to operate PizzaCup:
- Other race users — organizers and participants in the same event may see names, race numbers, avatars, progress, positions, and results that are part of the live race experience.
- Service providers — we use infrastructure providers such as Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and realtime features, OpenStreetMap for map tiles, Open-Meteo to look up elevation for route profiles (route coordinates are sent for that calculation), and hosting for the website.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the service and its users.
7. Cookie-free analytics and browser storage
Our public information pages use Cloudflare Web Analytics to provide aggregated page-view, referrer, country, device, and performance information. Cloudflare states that this service does not use cookies or analytics local storage, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not collect or use visitors’ personal data for analytics.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, or cross-site behavioral advertising. Google Search Console reports how pages perform in Google Search and does not add visitor-tracking code to PizzaCup.
The race application uses browser local storage and session storage where necessary to maintain authentication state, remember the active race and interface preferences, and support requested app functions. This functional storage is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
8. Retention
We keep account and race data for as long as needed to provide the service, support event history, and meet legal or security obligations. Organizers may delete events they control. You can ask us to delete your account data by contacting RaceControl@pizza-cup.ch.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards provided by our hosting and backend providers, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. Authorized PizzaCup service operators may access limited account identifiers and usage records when needed to operate the service, administer plans, or provide support. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
10. Your choices
- Update profile details inside the app where available.
- Revoke camera, microphone, or location permissions in your browser/device.
- Disconnect Google or Apple sign-in from your Google or Apple account settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing RaceControl@pizza-cup.ch.
If you are in the EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland, you may also have rights to object to certain processing or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
11. Children
PizzaCup is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of PizzaCup after an update means you accept the revised policy.
